Choose an Event You Can Stay Present With

Choose a specific event from the past that feels connected to the pain or condition, or simply one that still bothers you now. A felt connection is a possible EFT doorway, not proof that the event caused a diagnosis.

Rate the event’s present intensity from 0 to 10. If it is too activating to stay grounded and aware of the present, choose a smaller event or work with skilled trauma-aware support.

Tapping 1: Still Upset About What Happened

Side of the Hand: Even though I’m still upset about what happened back
then… I deeply and profoundly love and accept myself anyway.

Even though I am still upset about what happened back then… I accept who I am
and how I feel.

Even though I think that event had something to do with what I’m grappling with
right now… I accept all of me… the past… the present… the future.

Top of the Head: I’m still upset about what happened in the past.
Eyebrow: I’m still upset about what happened back then.
Side of the Eye: I think my upset vibration has been stored in my body.
Under the Eye: I remember that event as if it was yesterday.
Under the Nose: It was so painful.
Chin: It still feels painful to me now.
Collarbone: I remember that specific event.
Under the Arm: And it makes me feel terrible when I think about it.

Take a slow breath.

Recall the event and notice its intensity now.

Tapping 2: The Feelings I Have Been Carrying

Side of the Hand: Even though I still have these negative feelings about
what happened back then… I deeply and profoundly accept myself anyway.

Even though I still have these negative feelings about what happened back
then… I accept who I am no matter what.

Even though I suspect that those negative feelings from that past event… are
stored in my body and my energy system… I deeply and profoundly love and accept
myself anyway.

Top of the Head: I’m still upset about what happened.
Eyebrow: Those negative feelings have been stored in my body.
Side of the Eye: That specific event is really bothering me even today.
Under the Eye: I remember those negative feelings.
Under the Nose: I know they had to go somewhere in my body.
Chin: I’ve been storing the feelings from that specific event in my body.
Collarbone: And they have been taking their toll.
Under the Arm: I know I’ve been storing that negativity in my body.

Top of the Head: What if I could release the negative feelings?
Eyebrow: What if I didn’t?
Side of the Eye: What if I could release that trapped energy from the
specific event?
Under the Eye: I know it’s stored in my memory.
Under the Nose: I know it’s stored in my body.
Chin: I know it’s stored in my immune system.
Collarbone: What if I let go of that specific event?
Under the Arm: I wonder if I could let go right now.

Take a slow breath.

Measure the feeling about the event again.

Tapping 3: Choosing to Release the Event

Side of the Hand: Even though I’m still harboring negative feelings from
that specific event… I am ready to release them now.

Even though I’m still storing negative feelings from that particular event… I
accept who I am… past and present… and I’m choosing to let go.

Even though I’m convinced that specific event is connected to my pain… and
even a part of my diagnosis… I choose to accept who I am and how I feel.

Top of the Head: That specific event is still there.
Eyebrow: I choose to let it go.
Side of the Eye: I’m releasing those negative feelings.
Under the Eye: I’m releasing the hurt… the pain… the resentment… the
anger… and the guilt.
Under the Nose: I feel a little bit lighter already.
Chin: I’m releasing that specific event from my body… mind… and energy.
Collarbone: I feel freer already.
Under the Arm: I choose to let go…

Top of the Head: I feel so strong.
Eyebrow: I love feeling so strong.
Side of the Eye: I appreciate who I am… no matter what I’ve been holding
onto.
Under the Eye: It’s so nice to appreciate my whole body.
Under the Nose: I’m releasing those old conflicts.
Chin: I’m releasing that specific event from my energy system.
Collarbone: And I feel so free.
Under the Arm: And I’m so grateful for my body, mind, and spirit.

Take a slow breath.

Measure the event again. Repeat only as it feels appropriate, staying attentive to the present and to your need for support.
