Watch, Then Practice

Caring Does Not Require All-Night Rehearsal

Some concerns are genuinely important: conflict, illness, work, family, or a decision with real consequences. Putting the issue down for the night can feel like abandonment. Yet chewing on it repeatedly may not create the clarity it deserves.

Tapping: Let Rest Participate in the Solution

Side of the Hand: Even though this is important, and I do not know how to
rest until I solve it, I may be able to respond better when I am rested.

Even though my heart aches and I want to fix this now, I may not be able to
solve it in this exact moment.

Top of the Head: It feels so important.
Eyebrow: I can place it in a beautiful box beside me for the night.
Side of the Eye: I can let my mind receive new information.
Under the Eye: Repeating it is not helping now.
Under the Nose: Thinking it to death is not changing it.
Chin: I am open to useful clarity.
Collarbone: It is okay to set this down for the night.
Under the Arm: That does not mean I do not care.

Top of the Head: Rest is an investment in my ability to respond.
Eyebrow: I invite a clearer head for the next step.

Take a breath. If needed, write down the concern and the first time you intend
to return to it. Let that practical agreement help the caring part release its
grip.
