Guided Practice: Let Imagination Offer Beauty and Nourishment

Imagination often rehearses what could go wrong. For these minutes, let it create a place that is pleasing and supportive.

Imagine walking along a beach. Notice where the sunlight comes from and feel its warmth. Let the body turn toward it in whatever way feels good. Sense that the same light reaches plants, birds, sand, and you.

Wiggle the toes in the sand and press the heels down. Feel support under the arches and through the bones of the legs, hips, and pelvis. Imagine the sun warming the bones and making them feel supple.

Listen to the waves. Feel their power changing the sand. Let their rhythm echo in the chest and invite a small movement in the body.

Return attention to the sun warming the skull, face, neck, shoulders, arms, collarbones, chest, and spine. If pleasing, turn so it reaches the back. Let energy rise like a wave and then ground through the feet into the sand.

At the edge of the beach, notice a tree that draws your attention. It has been shaped by wind and sea. Its twists and turns reveal resilience rather than diminishing its majesty. Approach with reverence.

Feel its roots reaching deeply and broadly into the earth. Touch the bark as if meeting a new friend. Notice texture and scent. Reach upward and imagine attention traveling through trunk, branches, leaves, warmth, and wind. Then follow the connection down into the roots. Sense the living tree respond to stress while remaining grounded.

While holding the tree in imagination, picture a fruit you enjoy—ordinary, tropical, or magical. Open your imagined eyes and notice that one fruit on a branch. See how tree, sun, moon, stars, soil, and water have nourished it.

Ask whether you may take the fruit. Receive only a welcoming yes. Hold it and notice color, aliveness, and the sense of something grown for sharing.

Settle against the tree where soft sand and a strong trunk support you. Feel shade temper the sunlight while the waves continue. Dolphins may play in the distance if your imagination enjoys them.

Decide what you want to do with the fruit. Reveal and taste it, hold it and receive its energy, save it, or choose another response. It is yours without pressure.

Notice the capacity to travel through imagination toward what is magical, beautiful, curious, and appreciative. Feel the beach, tree, and body once more. Take a breath and return with the nourishment you chose to receive.
