Watch, Then Practice

Urgency Can Become an Inner Whip
There is not enough time can produce a burst of adrenaline and temporary performance. The primitive brain does not clearly distinguish a full task list from racing to survive. Used continuously, urgency scatters attention and depletes the body.
High performance does not require constant distress. Grounded focus often accomplishes more than spinning rapidly among three unfinished tasks.
Tap Before Engaging the List
Feel your feet and the support beneath you. Let this moment belong to you even while many tasks remain.
Side of the Hand: Even though there is not enough time and I feel it
through my whole body, I choose to take one slow breath and be present with
myself for a moment.
Top of the Head: There is not enough time.
Eyebrow: I have used this mantra for a long time.
Side of the Eye: My body believes it has to run.
Under the Eye: There really is a lot I want to do.
Under the Nose: Distress does not have to be my only fuel.
Chin: Calm focus helps me.
Collarbone: I choose to let my body relax a little.
Under the Arm: I invite clarity and direction.
Take a breath.
Choose One Meaningful Next Thing
After tapping for a minute or two, look at the list again. Ask:
- What truly matters now?
- What can wait, be removed, or be done differently?
- What is one task I can complete before switching?
- Which items are choices, services, opportunities, or expressions—not only burdens?
The aim is not to deny real deadlines. It is to stop using distress as the only fuel. Repeatedly pairing the list with grounding can condition the body toward focused engagement rather than frantic depletion.
