Invitation
A beautiful being does not have to be in the room, human, or physically alive for the connection to be present in you.
You might choose a furry friend, a loved one, someone who has died, a former teacher, a person known through a book, an ancestor, an angel, God in a form that fits your worldview, or another spiritual companion. Choose a connection that carries some love and trust.
Find Where the Connection Is Alive
Close your eyes if that feels comfortable. Come WITH and IN your body.
Rather than reaching for the connection only as something outside you, notice where it is alive in your body. Remember a look, a nuzzle, a hug, a cup of tea, deep peace, or another moment of presence.
If sadness or longing comes because you miss them, tap gently while holding both the love and the loss.
Embody the Love You Feel
Let more of the body participate. Move a little. Breathe. Tap or hold a comfort point while saying:
I love this being. I appreciate what we have shared. Thank you.
Notice whether the felt connection changes as appreciation becomes embodied rather than remaining only a thought.
Practice Receiving
Now notice what seems to flow toward you. It might feel like warmth, color, texture, reassurance, a remembered touch, imagination, spiritual presence, or the simple message: You are not alone. I am here. We are here.
Let whatever is nourishing make its way toward a part of you that could use relief. You do not have to settle what kind of reality the connection has for someone else. Practice with what your body can genuinely feel and receive.
Thank the being in whatever way fits. Then notice the body again. Warmer, lighter, tearful, comforted, unchanged, or something else—there is no required answer.
Make Loving Presence More Accessible
Practice at ordinary or stressful times: in traffic, while isolated, before a medical procedure, during illness, or at four in the morning when no one else is awake.
Imagination can take us toward frightening stories. It can also help the body re-enter a connection that is loving and nourishing. Repeated practice makes the presence of love easier to access when it matters.
