Carol Look has a radio show on VoiceAmerica, and twice now she has interviewed EFT founder Gary Craig. The latest interview on July 18th (show 8) covered Why EFT Works with Pain and Physical Ailments. I wanted to share with you some of the highlights; you can listen to the recorded show as well.
Gary contrasts the medical model of the body as a bag of bones and chemicals to be treated with drugs and surgery to the model EFT and other energy therapies use. EFT goes right by the physical aspects and looks at the body as an energy configuration. These subtle energies are entirely ignored by the medical profession in the west. Even where there is an observed emotional contributor to diseases, it is often viewed as psychological or chemical imbalances. We’re taking a completely different approach that honors what western medicine does really well AND which offers completely unexplored doorways to healing that can bring profound improvements in physical and emotional health.
When people do use EFT for physical pains, often the pain will go away. This is GOOD. Then it will come back. And the perception is that this is BAD. Gary points out that there are parts of the body that seem to act as a barometer. For some people it will be a pain in the neck, shoulders, or back. For others, it might be their gut. When a pain goes and comes back, it means that the “door” into that pain has opened on another aspect that is yet to be fully harmonized energetically. It is inaccurate to say that EFT didn’t work when the pain returned. [Our energy system is a bit like our skin. We don’t say the shower didn’t work because we don’t stay clean for the rest of our lives after one shower…]
When using EFT for serious diseases, you can start with the symptoms and “chase the pain” however it changes in body sensations. However, if progress stalls using just the symptoms, it is a perfect time to look for emotional drivers. Gary said also that he wouldn’t be surprised if we discover that most serious diseases have as a major driver unresolved emotional issues. Using EFT we can remove the inner conflicts and allow the body to return to “its normal healing brilliance.”
On allergies, Gary noted the high success rate using EFT on the physical and emotional symptoms. He suggested looking at the question, “When have you ever felt attacked?” as one doorway, as well as looking at times when the emotion of “rejection” is present.
