Sometimes we run into something that just seems too hard to do.

For different reasons it can feel as impossible as trying to lift a 10,000 lb weight.
Through a lot of trail and error, I’ve learned that the first thing I need to check is my primitive brain…
If my survival or primitive brain is overwhelmed, everything will feel lots harder. In fact it can feel impossible.
The same energy that can lift a car off a small child can stop us in our tracks.
I’ll share some tapping in just a minute—something that really helped me a couple weeks ago.
Now let’s get back to tapping. This is what I tapped on a couple weeks ago, in the women’s restroom, staring in the mirror and trying to prepare for something I was scared to do.
Side of the Hand: Even though I’m having trouble breathing, I am breathing, and I can be here for myself.
Even though this feels impossible, I’m going to make a fool out of myself in front of my new co-workers, and I feel like I’ll die of shame, I can breath, and I’m here for myself.
I am going to make a fool out of myself, and I can take gentle breaths and be there for me no matter what.
Top of the Head: This is so hard.
Eyebrow: I don’t know how to do this…
Side of the Eye: I feel like I might break.
Under the Eye: I want to do a good job.
Under the Nose: I want to my co-workers to like me.
Chin: This hurts so much.
Collarbone: I want to run away.
Under the Arm: I want to hide.
Top of the Head: There’s so much going on right now.
Eyebrow: No wonder I feel overwhelmed.
Side of the Eye: I send love to my own heart.
Under the Eye: I appreciate my courage… I am still tapping!
Under the Nose: I haven’t given up.
Chin: I am breathing.
Collarbone: There are no tigers or lions here right now (though it really feels like there are!)
Under the Arm: I can be here for me.
Top of the Head: I can take this one baby step at a time.
Eyebrow: I can comfort myself.
Side of the Eye: Not all of my reaction is about this…
Under the Eye: Some if is about other things.
Under the Nose: I can put them aside for right now.
Chin: I can just deal with one thing at a time.
Collarbone: I invite love and support right now.
Under the Arm: I send appreciation to myself for my courage.
Top of the Head: And I can stay with me no matter what.
Take a deep breath.
