Companion Guide
Money is practical. It pays rent, buys food, funds care, and opens choices. Yet our response to money is rarely only about arithmetic. A number can activate tension, shame, danger, guilt, excitement, freedom, or the fear that we no longer belong.
Before trying to “raise your vibration” around money, find out what your body already believes. That honest starting point is much more useful than repeating an affirmation over a strong internal no.
This Guide Helps With
- finding your current money comfort zone
- recognizing worthiness, safety, and belonging beneath money stress
- separating the amount of money from the experience you actually want
- working with the “yes, but” that follows an affirmation
- cultivating abundance without denying practical financial facts
Find the Number Where Your Body Changes
Your money comfort cap may be different from the amount you consciously want.
Try saying or writing a sequence of amounts: $20,000, $50,000, $100,000, or numbers that make sense in your circumstances. Imagine receiving that amount, earning it in a year, or writing a check to yourself.
Watch for the first shift:
- your heartbeat changes
- your chest, throat, or stomach tightens
- the number suddenly seems ridiculous
- a voice says, “Who do you think you are?”
- you worry about greed, criticism, obligation, or people asking for money
- you feel as if you have crossed out of the social class or family identity where you belong
The number is not a goal or a diagnosis. It is a way to make an invisible boundary visible. Someone may consciously want much more while their body becomes uncomfortable at a surprisingly modest amount. Another person may possess considerable wealth and still feel chronically unsafe. The pile itself does not settle an old alarm.
What Do You Want the Money to Let You Feel or Do?
Money is often standing in for freedom, connection, beauty, generosity, rest, or room to choose.
If you imagine a new home, a vehicle, travel, or a higher income, ask what living experience matters underneath it. The deeper desire might be taking your family somewhere together, giving generously, leaving a confining situation, having time to create, or feeling able to breathe.
This does not make money unreal or unnecessary. It gives your intention emotional specificity. “I must earn twenty percent more” may feel like pressure. “I want enough room to choose work that matters and spend time with people I love” connects the practical goal to aliveness.
Let the Yes-But Speak
Strong affirmations can expose a conflict:
I earn $___ a year.
Yes, but people will think I am greedy.
Yes, but my family will expect me to rescue them.
Yes, but I do not have the skills yet.
Yes, but people like me do not make that much.
The objection is not evidence that the desired change is impossible. It is useful tapping material. It may point to a practical skill gap, an old experience of scarcity, fear of visibility, or a belief that worth must be earned through endless effort. Regulation does not replace financial planning; it helps you meet the plan with more of your intelligence available.
Tapping: Meeting Your Money Comfort Cap
Choose a number that creates a noticeable but workable response. Substitute your own amount throughout the round.
Side of the Hand: Even though I do not believe I deserve to make $___, I accept my feelings and this conflict.
Even though part of me asks, “Who do I think I am?” I deeply and profoundly accept myself anyway.
Even though this amount does not feel safe or believable yet, I am willing to consider that my comfort zone can expand.
Top of the Head: This amount makes my body tense.
Eyebrow: What if I do not deserve it?
Side of the Eye: I have a strong belief about my limit.
Under the Eye: I do not think I am worth this much.
Under the Nose: What would other people expect from me?
Chin: What if I no longer belong?
Collarbone: Part of me believes more money would not be safe.
Under the Arm: I respect the alarm my body is showing me.
Top of the Head: What if worthiness is not a salary?
Eyebrow: I was already worthy before I earned anything.
Side of the Eye: I can learn the practical skills I need.
Under the Eye: I can have boundaries around requests and giving.
Under the Nose: I can let this become more believable gradually.
Chin: I am open to feeling safer with more choice.
Collarbone: There may be enough room for me and for others.
Under the Arm: I can welcome abundance in ways that fit my values.
Take a breath. Say or write the amount again and notice what your body says now. Any new objection is material for another specific round.
A Grounded Money Experiment
For several days, notice one money trigger at a time. Record the number, situation, body sensation, feared consequence, and one practical fact. Tap with the emotional response, then decide whether the next movement is a budget choice, a conversation, a boundary, new training, an invitation, or rest.
Abundance is an emotional experience, but it is not a command to ignore numbers. The useful question is whether you can relate to money with enough steadiness to see both your real circumstances and your real possibilities.
