Resistance to Exercise (Start 05:20) Ivana now works at home and has lost the exercise she used to get from walking during her commute. She’s noticed a loss of energy, and she’s asking, “What’s the matter with me?” In this session we did not tap as much as I usually do. It takes awhile sometimes to walk around and around an issue until you figure out where the doors might be, and the limiting beliefs. We found a few. First, that exercise is best done in the morning. Ivana DOES prefer to exercise in the morning, and the session is geared towards making that more likely. Yet, by having the belief that morning is best and the ‘pollution’ in gets too heavy in the afternoon, it blocks signals from the body that might be saying that late afternoon or even late evening sometimes might clear the body/mind. We also hear an honest assessment that she prioritizes many other things at a “10” and exercise at a “4-5.” This kind of energetic priority setting dictates how we actually behave, vs. how we think we “should” behave. We didn’t get as deeply into this resetting of priorities as we might have. I’d encourage Ivana to look at feelings around this. From a planning standpoint, those of us who work at home need to find “excuses” to leave our endless to-do list and get out and move. I suggested walking to a tea shop in the morning. Ivana felt a park might be better, and it very well might. Just be sure that whatever you choose can be done rain or shine or cold or hot. Or have a mix of activities. I also suggested Quick Energy to Get Off the Couch. Finally, I challenges Ivana to let me know tomorrow what time she gets up and what movement activities she did for herself before noon. Those of us who work at home often need the accountability we get from a coach more than those whose bosses and co-workers are around to notice.
Raging, Stubborn Anger in My Throat (Start 31:30) Christine starts her session with a burning sensation at an “8” in her throat and ends with a “2-3.” How did we get there? We started with the bosy sensation of burning, and it went from an 8 only to a 7. As we added emotions to the sensations, we made more progress. As the energy and session progressed, we hit on energies of “not being taken care of” and “You can’t make me.” (I recommended the audio No! You Can’t Make Me! to her as well). Please be warned that, to respect the way the body/mind chose to express certain emotions, there is emphatic use of profanity during part of this recording. Sometimes, politeness can stand in the way of connecting with the core energies. You will notice that as that energy dissipates, we move into grief and then light anger and finally calm… and the stubborn aspect of the energy of anger was released.
Surrogate Tapping for 17-year-old Who Lost Father (Start 53:36) Kevin has lost a number of close friends and family recently. He wanted clarification on surrogate tapping, a way that I feel helps to process the emotions others are suffering from. If energy is neither created nor destroyed… just transformed from one state to another… then I know that when we touch the grief energy of another person and tap for them or as them, and we feel relief… there is less energy of grief burdening that person. This is a way for all of us to be empowered to offer our heart-support to those who are in pain. You can tap in the usual way, and you can also tap while you pray. There is healing power in love expressed through the body.
