Moving Up The Vibrational Scale

Login for Members-Only Content

Moving up the vibrational (emotional) scale is a lot like playing the children’s game, Chutes & Ladders…

1) You are where you are.
2) Each “move” can only take you so far.
3) Sometimes you backslide, and that’s okay.
4) It’s nice when you find a shortcut.
5) Turn-by-turn, step-by-step… eventually gets you where you want to be.

With EFT we notice the emotional “chutes” and eliminate them, while at the same time we train our energy system to take “ladders” to quickly and confidently move up the vibrational scale.

Major Levels of the Vibrational Scale

DISEMPOWERED – The Dark, Dank Basement
These emotional states of being are heavy, dark, cold, weak, and wet.

Powerless
Fearful
Scared
Guilty
Ashamed
Depressed
Despairing
Grieving
Lonely
Insecure
Unworthy
Heartbroken

INFLAMED – Re-Igniting the Inner Fire

Which feels better… to be scared, wet, and cold in the dark… or standing by the light and heat of a raging fire? What you do with the Fire (Life Force) determines whether the energy is healing or destructive… and many people hit “chutes” here that take them back into disempowerment.

Angry
Blaming
Vengeful
Jealous
Raging
Hating

STRESSED – Unstable, Externally Focused, Reactive Energy
These vibrations do have energy moving… but the energy is chaotic, ungrounded, un-centered. The emotions are characterized by primitive, non-resourceful reactions to events. The head is in charge, problems are hard and complex, and intuitive guidance is suppressed, ignored, ridiculed, and distrusted.

Chaotic
Vigilant
Overwhelmed
Impatient
Frustrated
Irritated
Pessimistic
Worried
Bored
Doubtful
Disappointed
Discouraged

CONNECTED – Conscious, Stable, Balanced Foundational Energy
Emotional freedom starts here and builds on these heart-centered core energies. These states of being can be consciously cultivated and strengthened through consistent, intentional practices.

Accepting
Simple
Safe
Calm
Peaceful
Present
Awake
Mindful
Detached
Observing

THRIVING – Curious, Expectant, and Open
Ahhh… this is Conscious Living… this is Thriving. We feel intuitively guided, moving easily with the flow of well-being. We’re curious and expectant about what is to come, and deeply appreciative and grateful for what is manifesting in our lives right now.

Happy
Loving
Guided
Curious
Co-Creative
Appreciative
Grateful
Inspired
Confident
Energized
Expectant
Eager
Enthusiastic
Believing
Optimistic
Hopeful

PEAKING – Deliciously Wonderful Emotional States!
When we are consciously CONNECTED to Source Energy and are THRIVING, these emotional experiences come naturally as relatively short-term peaks that let us taste LIFE in unique and memorable ways.

Ecstatic
Blissful
Elated
Passionate
Joyous
Gleeful
Euphoric
Jubilant
Rapturous

On Sunday, September 14th, co-hosts Rick Wilkes and Cathy Vartuli hosted a teleclass on The Vibrational Scale: A Guide to Understand and Improving Your Vibrational Trend. It was the second topic in our Body Vitality Workshop that we’re holding as part of the Thriving Now Team. (All calls are recorded so you can listen and tap along later if you cannot attend.) The detailed outline for the call, and details on how you can become a team member and access the recordings, are shown below.

1. Welcome

2. Intentions:
– Help you understand what the vibrational scale is, and how we move up and down it in our daily lives.
– We’ll show you how understanding the vibrational scale can help you tune your life toward a more relaxed, and happier focus.
– We’ll discuss ways we can use the information we get from “drops” to reduce the ways we move down the scale, and common ways people prevent themselves from moving up.
– We’ll also talk about the benefits of reaching for “neutral.”

3. What is the Vibrational Scale?
– It’s a metric of where we are emotionally.
– Ranges from feeling disempowered (even deeply depressed) all the way to totally empowered, joyful bliss.
– Having a conscious scale gives us guidelines to see how comfortable we are in our lives and what areas might need some attention.
– Law of Attraction is responding to where you are on the vibrational scale!

4. The Vibrational Scale is not a one way street.
We move up and down the scale all the time… and that is good, normal, and expected!
– May encounter triggers that slide us to the bottom.
– “Winning” is not about reaching the top (you will… and you won’t “stay” there).
– It’s about removing blocks and increasing resiliency so when we do go down, we don’t go as far or stay as long… and we can consciously, rapidly restore ourselves with skill and grace.
– Life isn’t about avoiding “negative experiences.” It’s about how we deal with them and what we take away with us.

5. Moving up the vibrational (emotional) scale is a lot like playing the children’s game, Chutes & Ladders…
– You are where you are.
– Each “move” can only take you so far.
– Sometimes you backslide, and that’s okay.
– It’s nice when you find a shortcut.
– Turn-by-turn, step-by-step… eventually gets you where you want to be.

6. If we pay attention to where we are on the scale, what we’re feeling, we have an advantage… We can tune in and move up.
– Most people notice emotions when they are really loud or painful.
– By paying attention to our emotions, we can notice the more subtle signals and adjust before the situation becomes critical.
– Noticing when we feel a bit angry allows us to see where our boundaries are being crossed quickly. We don’t have to wait until we’ve been injured emotionally or physically.

7. Paying attention to the small “chutes” in our lives, and removing the emotional charge around them, can give us immense peace and well-being.
– Knowing that it is natural to move up and down the scale… even when we’ve healed most of our issues… can allow us to release the resistance and self-criticism most people feel when they are not ALWAYS at their Best.

8. Why should we pay attention to the chutes???
– Knowing what the chutes are lets us clear them out of our system.
– With EFT we notice the emotional triggers that leave us feeling disempowered, guilty, depressed, or ashamed and eliminate them… while at the same time we train our energy system to take “ladders” to quickly and confidently move up the vibrational scale.
– Chutes can take you lower than you were originally.
– Sort of like living in a house with trap doors in the floor. You can either walk carefully all the time, or, each time you find one, remove it.
– By tapping on the chutes you find, your life will flow more easily and you’ll have more confidence.
– Instead of beating yourself up if you find a chute, try thinking “Oh cool, I found another one!” and tap it out of existence!
– Examples of some “chutes”: (usually involve triggers for our primitive brain):
– Our boss yelling at us
– Fears for our financial security
– Concerns about our health
– A friend saying something unkind and reminding us of our parent’s criticism…

9. Many people make it a contest… judge themselves based on where they are on the scale.
– This will almost always move you down the ladder (from neutral to stressed for example, or stressed to depressed).
– Use where you are and the trend as a guide.
– Notice where you are and take action to move up.
– Notice what causes you to move down, and tap on it!
– Tapping on frustration… “I’m not where I want to be!”

10. The Scale:
– Abe has more steps in the scale, this is a fundamental scale, for understanding.

DISEMPOWERED – The Dark, Dank Basement
– Powerless, fearful, scared, guilty, ashamed, depressed, despairing, grieving, lonely, insecure, unworthy, heartbroken.
– These emotional states of being are heavy, dark, cold, weak, and wet.
– If Eeyore sat on a tack, he’d just sit there. “Oh well, what do you expect.”

INFLAMED – Re-Igniting the Inner Fire
– Angry, blaming, vengeful, jealous, raging, hating.
– Which feels better… to be scared, wet, and cold in the dark… or standing by the light and heat of a raging fire?
– What you do with the Fire (Life Force) determines whether the energy is healing or destructive… and many people hit “chutes” here that take them back into disempowerment.
– Power moving

STRESSED – Unstable, Externally Focused, Reactive Energy
– Chaotic, vigilant, overwhelmed, impatient, frustrated, irritated, pessimistic, worried, bored, doubtful, disappointed, discouraged.
– These vibrations do have energy moving… but the energy is chaotic, ungrounded, un-centered.
– The emotions are characterized by primitive, non-resourceful reactions to events.
– The head is in charge, problems are hard and complex, and intuitive guidance is suppressed, ignored, ridiculed, and distrusted.
– External guidance, external metrics of success.
– Not in “Now”, very disconnected.
– Most people stop here.

CONNECTED – Conscious, Stable, Balanced Foundational Energy – “Neutral” – “Balance Point”
– Accepting, simple, safe, calm, peaceful, present, awake, mindful, detached, observing.
– This is the state of being we refer to as “neutral.”
– It is balanced and foundational.
– Emotional freedom starts here and builds on these heart-centered core energies.
– These states of being must be consciously cultivated and strengthened through consistent, intentional practices.
– Internal guidance and metrics of success.
– Sighing, relaxing, in present moment.
– Mindfulness is a great way to practice this, to tune our energy systems here.
– Mindful eating, driving, washing dishes.
– Very present in the NOW.
– Notice the simple things.

THRIVING – Curious, Expectant, and Open
– Happy, loving, guided, curious, co-creative, appreciative, grateful, inspired, confident, energized, expectant, eager, enthusiastic, believing, optimistic, hopeful.
– Ahhh… this is Conscious Living… this is Thriving.
– We feel intuitively guided, moving easily with the flow of well-being.
– We’re curious and expectant about what is to come, and deeply appreciative and grateful for what is manifesting in our lives right now.
– Can’t be like this all the time. We need rest and renewal in the “connected” state.
– Relax into fact that we won’t always be thriving… and that is okay!
– We can crash when we beat ourselves up about not always being “happy… or even better!”
– Let’s do EFT on frustrations and stress around this.
– Tapping on “Why can’t I always feel like this?”

PEAKING – Deliciously Wonderful Emotional States!
– Ecstatic, blissful, passionate, joyous, elated, gleeful, euphoric, jubilant, rapturous, orgasmic.
– When we are consciously CONNECTED to Source Energy and are THRIVING, these emotional experiences come naturally as relatively short-term peaks that let us taste LIFE in unique and memorable ways.
– We can get wonky when we don’t have this all the time.
– It feels so incredible, it’s easy to get focused on (even addicted to) this feeling.
– Pushing to always have peak experiences causes stress (and may well prevent them from “arriving”).
– Wet sponge analogy… harder you squeeze it, the less it holds.
– “Trying” is stress.
– “Allow” rather than “try.”
– It’s ok… no one lives in peak experiences all the time.
– Emotionally healthy people cycle between connected and thriving.
– Peak experiences arise naturally as a part of that cycle.
– If we can, we go easily back into peace/rest.
– Allow the energy from peak experiences to nurture the rest of your life, flow through all of it.

Practical Applications

11. Anger is up the vibrational scale from disempowerment!
– Anger is often viewed as a negative or frightening emotion.
– We don’t have good role models on how to process it, deal with it.
– Anger is a signal to set a boundary (and the energy to do it), or a way of releasing old trauma.
– We often hit chutes when we feel angry. Guilt and shame will pull us back down into disempowered.
– Anger is often suppressed because we don’t feel safe feeling angry.
– It may not have been safe to feel angry when young (parents retaliated, for example).
– These old fears and self-criticism keep people from feeling relief from anger.
– If we can’t feel safe feeling angry, we can’t let the anger enliven us.
– Thinking revenge thoughts is a good way to process anger (as long as we don’t act on them).
– How to feel “in control” when we feel angry?
– How to feel safe being angry (knowing we won’t hurt someone or ourselves)?
– Tap on even though it feels wrong to feel angry.

12. When we feel angry, we can ask ourselves, what do we feel powerless about?
– Tap or set boundary
– When we see someone angry, ask ourselves, what are they disempowered about?

13. Baby Steps…
Sometimes we get really frustrated when we notice the gap between where we are and where we want to be on the scale.
– We tend to focus on levels of the scale that are vibrationally too far to reach from where we are in that moment.
– If we are disempowered, we may be desperate to be thriving… but we can’t LEAP there.
– First move up to angry, then stressed, then neutral and connected.
– Baby steps make it easier to notice the issues, to relax, and to move up the scale.
– When we’re focusing vibrationally too far away, we’re going to feel some disempowerment (that’s guidance!).

14. Notice the trend.
– When your feeling stressed, instead of beating yourself about where you are, notice how far you’ve come.
– There will be ups and downs. Take the long view.
– Tap on appreciation for how far I’ve come.

15. Summary
– Know the vibrational scale so we can monitor where we are.
– Don’t beat yourself up… just notice at first.
– Tap to remove chutes and to accept the emotions you’re feeling.
– “I deeply and completely accept all of my feelings.”
– Use body guidance… Body YES and Body NO (from last week’s call) to guide you up the scale!
– Practice the art of moving to a neutral, connected state.
– From a balanced, connected state of being, play around with the emotions listed as Thriving.

Our intention with the Body Vitality Workshop is to help you…

– develop an amazing relationship with your body…
– help it feel surprisingly safe, calm, and confident…
– listen to and follow its intuitive guidance…
– consciously direct its vibrational trend towards total well-being…
– and delight in the pleasures of food, movement, and touch in healthy and balanced ways.

It doesn’t matter if you’re over-, under- or at your perfect weight, hate the pains in your back, think you don’t have enough muscles, feel clumsy, or your nose is funny….

We’ll focus on developing practical body guidance, feeling safe in your body, appreciating and accepting where you are (as hard as that can be sometimes), and removing blocks to moving forward towards a more powerful, healthy, vital body. We’ll have specific calls on eating for the body’s needs… and for its pleasure! We’ll also use EFT to bring relief to pain and suffering… and bring more fluid movement to your body from your head to your toes.

In the members-only forum we’ll have ongoing discussions on each of these topics… as well as mutual support and encouragement to guide this process.

If you would like to participate in this workshop and bring increased vitality and power to your body, become a team member.

We’d like to acknowledge Abraham-Hicks for their teachings about the vibrational scale and emotional guidance system. We’ve read all their books such as Ask & It is Given and listened to hours and hours of their audio recordings. This particular scale overlays six vibrational levels (Disempowered, Inflamed, Stressed, Connected, Thriving, and Peaking) to enhance what we’ve learned from Abe, other teachers, and from our own inner guidance. This new scale fits the vibrational lifestyle approach to thriving that we teach here at www.Thrivingnow.com.
