Three Inside, Three Outside
Although my body’s thirty plus,
There’s someone inside me,
that can’t believe that’s really true—
I feel like I’m just three!
Sure, my skin is not so soft.
My body—it has changed.
My spirit, though, is young and fresh.
It shows no sign of age.
I’ve burdened it with lots of junk—
worries, fears, and doubts.
I’m sure that with a little faith,
I’ll gladly toss those out.
For inside me I’m young and free.
I know just how to play.
Ask me again in fifty years.
I’ll always be this way.
So I’ve decided, Now’s the time
to let everybody see
that wondrous, playful, joyful gift
that is the child in me.
