Releasing Financial Trauma

When we feel helpless... and even a PART of us senses our survival is threatened... the stage is set for emotional trauma. We freeze inside, and we get "stuck" there on some level until the trauma is discharged.

The current worldwide financial events fit this scenario for many people. These are global currents that like a hurricane are not under our individual control. The wails and cries of the media and neighbors and co-workers and politicians conspire to get us "all worked up with nowhere to go!" ...even if we otherwise are not financially worried... much less panicked.

This kind of trauma ties into our beliefs about money, scarcity, and security. Even more importantly, current events trigger past memories of when we felt helpless, scared, and at risk. This is where EFT can bring an enormous shift.

For those of us who do a lot of EFT, and who have been releasing our financial fears consciously over the past years, we've remained... surprisingly calm and confident. It sometimes feels like "Gosh, I *should* be scared, but that would be SILLY. It's all going to work out." This isn't denial. This is how it feels when you can stay connected to Source Energy when everyone else's primitive brain is shrieking.

My co-host Cathy Vartuli and I recently had a call where we showed listeners how that's done.

Take current fears... and tap on them.
Tune into the uneasy, anxious feelings in the body, and tap on them.
Explore "what does this remind you of?" and tap on those specific events.
Experience RELIEF using EFT, and learn how you too can discharge the frozen energies of financial trauma from your own system.

Here are some of the topics we covered:

- In the moment, practical relief. Something triggered primitive brain... recognize those signs.
- Trauma: Powerless over something that APPEARS life threatening.
- Determining whether your current focus is externally vs. internally referenced.
- Law of Atrraction: turned to "The world is coming to an end!!" channel. Becomes louder. Hear it all around it right now. World wide gravitation pull and personal pull.
- What do you look at that triggers you the most? Bank statement? Bill? Dow? Retirement fund? On-line account statement? College savings fund?
- Pick something that’s real (not denying the account that was 100k is now 55k).
- Tapping: Compulsive checking
- Primitive brain: is often good at dealing with immediate life-threatening problems where you must react and not think. It developed in times when there were life threatening dangers all around. Tree falling on you? Move quickly! Lots of adrenaline and full out effort which can feel like panic. The problem is, the primitive brain treats most threats as immediately life threatening. And that can feel overwhelming. Running as fast as you can in full out panic is NOT going to help you deal with the stock market, your 401K, or your job.
- As soon as someone gives you a positive perspective, what’s your reaction? Do you have any resistance? Is hope too big a step for you right now? Too far from disempowerment?
- Tapping: Feeling like a "financial failure"
- Where are you? What are you feeling in your body?
- Tapping: Heart racing
