Dependent - I Hate Being Dependent On Others

2009-07-07 I Hate Being Dependent On Others
- We all depend on (rely on) others for support. The angst comes from a few sources:
- 1) If someone gives me something, I owe them or they control me. (other definitions of dependent).
- 2) A belief in lack- if I rely on this, and it goes away, I won’t be able to stand it!
- 3) The things we tell ourselves about it (I’m weak, embarrassed).
- The ways to counter this dislike and fear are:
- 1) Good boundaries so we don’t feel obligated to give away our power for accepting help.
- 2) Circles of support.
- 3) Tap on the limiting beliefs
