Decide Which Channel YOU Want to Listen To

Turn on any news channel. They want you to believe that you are getting “vital information.” What you are really tuning into is the sound of sensationalism, conflict, ego polishing, and fear.

Talk to someone who complains, gossips, and blames the world for their suffering. This person is broadcasting on the channel where other people are wrong, stupid, evil, dangerous, uncaring, and unhappy. The weather is too hot, too cold, too dark, too bright, too not-perfect.

Guess what! We each have our own FEAR Channel that transmits this same disruptive mix. If we are not aware and diligent, it is this channel we’ll listen to all the time. It has high volume and disturbing messages. And, the broadcast voices on this channel really do think they know best how to keep us alive. Channel F.E.A.R. (False Evidence Appearing Real) transmits 24/7/365.

Yet, we’ve been given a choice. We can switch away from the FEAR channel and tune into CALM. It’s a skill that can be learned. While it may come naturally to some, for most of us humans, refining our ability to listen to CALM rather than FEAR will require making it a habit.

I’m convinced that EFT can help. I encourage you to listen to two audio coaching sessions right now. The first is Tap While You Gripe. It will help you use EFT to shift from having many unresolved complaints that you broadcast to your friends and family to being someone who can be a calming presence. The other is When Others Are in Pain. This approach can help you feel empowered and present—even when those around you are broadcasting FEAR.
