Free video presentation… see below!

Would you ask a 3-year-old what house to buy? Do you ask a 5-year-old who to date? If you have unresolved traumas from when you were 3- or 5-years-old, these frozen memories may have more impact on these adult decisions than you might think. You can find out what might be blocking you by watching this 14-minute video…

Most people think of “trauma” as nasty car accidents, muggings, child abuse, and war. But to a 3-year-old, Mommy suddenly “disappearing” because of a new job can be traumatic if the child feels rejected or abandoned.

Being ridiculed at Show-and-Tell can affect how we hold ourselves in public, sometimes for the rest of our lives… if we don’t release the frozen pain of that experience.

“Small” traumas can affect our self-worth, our sense of safety, how much love we allow in, and how abundant we feel.

Traumas change our vibration… often below the level of consciousness (and thus, by the Law of Attraction, they affect what we draw into our life.)

Why is that? What is going on and how do we change this?

We have put together a video sharing how big and little traumas are held in the body and mind, and how we can release them.

If you cannot watch the video due to a slow internet connection, here is a PDF Document of the presentation and a MP3 Audio File.

Next, let’s talk about how to use Inner Tapping to help. (Click link for the companion video.)

After all the progress I’ve made with tapping, I suddenly find myself feeling more afraid and intense. I have a lot of mental noise, and fear, and I’m afraid to move forward, just when I thought I was ready to take the next step. What’s going on? What if I’m like this for the rest of my life?! — Tina

It is frightening when you feel like you’re losing ground. It may help to realize a lot of us have felt the same way.

As we heal and get stronger, we learn that we can make positive changes. This is empowering and it feels really good.

Certain parts of us may have given up years ago. They may have shut down, with no hope of finding relief, leaving those aspects of us numb and out of touch.

As we become more skilled at releasing old beliefs and fears, those shut-down parts may start waking up. If there’s hope… they want help, too! We may find that old pains and negative beliefs come up and it HURTS!

Cathy adds: I often have more mind chatter and feel more stuck when I’m taking a big step forward. The key is (if you can do it) to notice the thoughts and feelings, but realize they aren’t necessarily true.

My big one is “why would anyone want you”. When I take my life to the next level, step into a new comfort zone, that belief comes out with bells on. Even though I’ve tapped on it a zillion times and released it, it seems like there is another layer hidden in the corner I didn’t know about. The bigger the step forward, the louder and bigger the limiting-belief gets. And there is the frustration that it should be GONE by now… But if anyone tells you they are NEVER frightened or insecure, you can be pretty sure they aren’t trying new things or stepping outside their routine.

The tapping I’ve done makes this pattern easier to recognize. I have learned that just because the belief is taking up a lot of space, it doesn’t mean it’s true, and I’ve gotten to the place where I can hear it and interpret it as a scared part of me, and as a sign that I’m doing something big. I can tap on the scared part of me, and let her know I appreciate how frightened she is, and how much she wants to keep me safe.

All this means is that… sometimes, more noise means we’re making progress. It’s counter intuitive, and it can be confusing, but that’s how a lot of us experience growth.

How does that feel to you?

Karate Chop: Even though I have this fear and pain coming up, maybe I’m ok anyway.

Even though it feels like steps backward, and that makes me nervous and anxious, I know I’ve been doing really loving things for myself, and maybe I’m ready to move forward.

Even though I’m scared, that’s a fact, I am open to facing this fear and moving on.

Top of the Head: All these feelings are coming up.
Eyebrow: They feel terrible!
Side of the Eye: I thought I was past this.
Under the Eye: I thought I was better.
Under the Nose: What if I’m messing all this up?
Chin: What if I’m broken?
Collarbone: I’m confused and frustrated,
Under the Arm: And I want relief NOW.

Top of the Head: What if this isn’t the bad sign I think it is?
Eyebrow: What if my system knows I’m strong enough to face this now?
Side of the Eye: Maybe it’s a really good sign…
Under the Eye: That I’m ready to move forward.
Under the Nose: It doesn’t feel good.
Chin: But I know how to deal with it better now.
Collarbone: I have all kinds of skills.
Under the Arm: And I’m tapping as we speak.

Top of the Head: I did hope I was past this.
Eyebrow: But I’m taking on new challenges.
Side of the Eye: I’m way outside my old comfort zones.
Under the Eye: And that is a bit frightening.
Under the Nose: I cleared the limits before.
Chin: I bet I can clear them now, too!
Collarbone: I don’t know what I’ll create.
Under the Arm: But I’m liking who I’m becoming.
Top of the Head: And that feels really good!

Take a deep breath.

Does that make the mind chatter louder or quieter? What are the actual phrases you’re “hearing”? Writing them down can get them out of your head and that can make it easier to look at them objectively.

Does it feel like part of you is scared and trying to hold you back where it’s “safe”? What if you could help that part of you see how safe you really are, and then get her help moving toward the goal? Our Self-Sabotage Relief Package can help you target the beliefs and fears that hold you back from your next level.

I have a conflict with a coworker. He isn’t my boss, but he is “up the food chain” and he seems to try to intimidate me. I get really nervous around him and feel insecure. What if he tells my boss negative things about me? What can I do? –Kendall

There will always be people around with more or less “authority”. There are people who have titles and those without. Some of the ones with titles have a lot of power and some don’t. It’s really about their internal beliefs and how they carry themselves… who they’ve networked with… who has credibility. Your boss can choose to listen to this guy or you, or a combination. You can’t control her or him. But it does sound like part of your terror comes from you giving up your power at the first sign of authority.

Did you learn it at a young age that you didn’t have choices? But now you do. You can love your job, but if things get really bad, you can try to fix it. And if that doesn’t work, there are other positions and other companies.

Many people talk themselves into feeling trapped. They don’t address the problem because they are afraid they’ll lose the ONLY job that will work for them. They never talk to the person they have a conflict with, their boss, HR… they just freeze in fear and stay “trapped”. That’s hard on the body. It’s hard to thrive if you’re terrified all the time!

If you give away all your power, some people will take it. And it sounds like he’s looking to establish his “power-over” anyway. If he thinks he can intimidate you, he will probably push a lot harder than if he sees someone confident and calm, owning her own power, ready to face the world.

I know you have an aspect of you that does have hope and a personal power. That part of you asked this question and and is willing to tap and take care of herself. Can you ask that powerful part of you to help you say no? To stand up for you?

Karate Chop: Even though I feel completely powerless and I hurt badly, I don’t want to stay in this disempowered place, and I ask the part of me who knows how to have power to help me.

Even though I’m used to being powerless and giving in to their demands and needs, I choose to reclaim my own power NOW, bit by bit.

Even though it terrifies me to do this, I’m tired of staying here hurting. I choose to reclaim my power and internalize it. I choose not to give it to him or her or them.

Top of the Head: They have all the power.
Eyebrow: They decide if my life is good or bad.
Side of the Eye: I hate how this feels.
Under the Eye: But I don’t feel like I have any power.
Under the Nose: I gave it away a long ago.
Chin: It wasn’t safe to have it then.
Collarbone: But I can have my own power NOW.
Under the Arm: I choose to take steps to reclaim it NOW.

Top of the Head: I’ve felt adrift, at the whims of others.
Eyebrow: I choose to STOP NOW.
Side of the Eye: I do have a choice.
Under the Eye: I can give my power away or…
Under the Nose: I can claim it and say NO.
Chin: I’m tired of being pushed around.
Collarbone: I’m tired of struggling to find a place to stand.
Under the Arm: I claim my own worth and power NOW.

Top of the Head: He may not like it.
Eyebrow: I’ve been trained to please.
Side of the Eye: I choose to please MYSELF now, too.
Under the Eye: It’s ok if he’s unhappy.
Under the Nose: I claim my happiness, too.
Chin: It’s not my job to make him happy.
Collarbone: He may think it is…
Under the Arm: But that’s his problem.
Top of the Head: I claim my life and my power, and ask the powerful part of
me to help me.

Take a deep breath.

See what comes up and continue tapping if it feels right. You can start reclaiming your power in small amounts right now. Does that feel safe? If not yet… you found another tappable issue! Congratulations!

You can love and accept yourself no matter what. You can stand up for yourself. You aren’t 3 or 4 or 5 years old. You’re an adult woman and you have the power, if only you take it up and use it.

If you want more help reclaiming your power, confidence and happiness, join our Group Coaching Program today! Isn’t it time you took a stand for you?

We believe that we are on this earth to create and feel joyful. What if, by following your bliss, you create things that may touch people’s minds in subtle and beautiful ways, just as someone else might soothe and nurture children? And what if your joy helps make the world a better place on top of that. AND what if your example helps other people reach for what makes their heart sing, so ripples of heart-centered creativity spread out around you? To us, engaging in work that YOU find amazing and fulfilling improves lots of people’s lives.

What specifically is your belief? How “must” you contribute to be worthwhile? Who told you? How do you know it’s true?

I think it comes down to the question: If everyone deserves abundance, then how and why should I have it when others don’t? Can I really have my dream job AND make money? Is that fair? — Amy

Why do you feel guilty if they have less?

What does you having more do to them? Make them sad? Does it take away from them somehow?

We all attract different things and there is no way to make everything completely “fair.” What is FAIR anyway? If I LOVE tuna sandwiches, and I have one, but you HATE tuna and love the peanut butter and jelly sandwich you have, is that unfair? What if I have 2 tuna sandwiches? What if there is unlimited abundance (sandwiches) for everyone, and some people are experiencing and allowing different numbers of sandwiches? If I feel guilty for having 2 sandwiches, and give you one of mine, does that make you any happier? Not if you don’t like tuna…!

What if you can enjoy your abundance and know that the Universe is very willing to give others the abundance they allow? And perhaps your example will inspire others to allow more into their lives?

Notice what comes up when you do this tapping. It can help you identify the beliefs and fears your subconscious is holding onto.

Karate Chop: Even though I feel so guilty when I think I have more than others, I’m open to clarity and peace, knowing there is abundance for all.

Even though I can’t have more than others, it would mean I’m selfish and bad, where did I learn that, and is it really true? I’d like to see things in a new and more empowering way.

Even though I feel trapped with this guilt, I can’t have more until they do, what if we’re all trapped waiting for the others to have enough so we can have abundance? I’m ready to release myself from this conflict and find freedom and peace… and lots of abundance.

Top of the Head: I feel so guilty.
Eyebrow: I shouldn’t even want more.
Side of the Eye: Much less have it!
Under the Eye: They don’t have it yet.
Under the Nose: They’re still struggling.
Chin: So I have to struggle too!
Collarbone: It’s the rule.
Under the Arm: That’s what they told me.

Top of the Head: Who decided this rule?
Eyebrow: How do I know it’s true?
Side of the Eye: They certainly seemed to believe it.
Under the Eye: But people sometimes believe things that are false.
Under the Nose: What if this is an old lame story…
Chin: Passed down for generations.
Collarbone: What if it isn’t true?
Under the Arm: And it’s been holding us all back?

Top of the Head: I ask for clarity and direction.
Eyebrow: I ask for abundance for all.
Side of the Eye: I ask for freedom from old, false rules.
Under the Eye: What if I can have lots of abundance?
Under the Nose: What if that helps them learn they can too?
Chin: I’m tired of these old rules.
Collarbone: And all this icky guilt.
Under the Arm: I don’t think it serves anyone.
Top of the Head: I choose to find a new and better path, and I ask for support and guidance.

How does that feel? What came up?

We help people with abundance issues and limiting beliefs on many of our Group Coaching calls. In fact, we have calls dedicated to Financial Abundance twice a month. Why not join today?! I have an inner conflict regarding my job. I love what I do. That’s part of the problem! I worry that it isn’t important enough and feel guilty. Shouldn’t I be in Africa saving kids or helping people in some way? I feel fulfilled and happy but rather guilty. I’d like to get that out of the way so I can flourish at my job and give it the energy and focus I want to.

I was unemployed for basically two years between the time I graduated from business school in 2001, and the time I accepted a job with The Economist in 2003. I was much luckier than most people in that situation, both because my parents let me stay in their spare bedroom, and because I was working during much of that time–freelancing, flirting with a start up, doing some tech consulting, and of course, working in a trailer at Ground Zero. But none of these were permanent, and at the time, it wasn’t clear that any of them were going to turn into something.

I felt the isolation and the desperate fear of everyone who doesn’t have a “real job”, the people who don’t know how they’re going to earn enough over the next forty years to keep body and soul together. I experienced real despair for the first time in my life. And it changed me, permanently.

The least important change was the one that is best measured: people who have a bout of unemployment at the beginning of their careers still earn less than their peers ten years later. What really matters is how it changed my outlook on the world. I became afraid then in a way that has never really left me. I obsess about economic security. I catastrophize small setbacks.

Before 2001, I was fairly blithely indifferent to the prospect of misfortune; now I spend an awful lot of time cataloguing everything that could possibly go wrong. My grandfather used to hide pretty substantial sums of money around the house, the legacy of the Great Depression’s bank failures, which I thought was very funny. Now it sounds sort of sensible.

There was also the crushing sense of isolation, and failure. (Emphasis was added to certain key phrases in her description.)

She’s describing a change that she’s noticed has been permanent. Such is the nature of the traumatic freeze response.

But it need NOT be permanent!

I suspect that if Megan had been isolated in the wilderness back then, and broken her leg, and it didn’t set straight, once she arrived back in civilization, she’d have consulted with a surgeon who very likely could reset the break. She’d then expect to spend some time in physical therapy strengthening the muscles and evening out her gait.

Yet when it comes to a psychological “break” like she describes, the expectation is that this is a permanent personality adjustment. Our society has the belief that we need to just limp along, misaligned and afraid. It need not be!

How Can You Correct This?

1) The correction starts with acknowledging that a trauma has occurred. Most of us haven’t been taught to look our emotions and beliefs squarely in the eye. Noticing that there is a problem is only helpful if there is a possible fix. Otherwise, why bother?! Traumas can be healed and released. It actually takes more strength and courage to admit there is a issue than it does to deny it, but in the long run it is well worth it!

2) Next, you understand that a part of you is still stuck in a primitive brain response. When we lose a job or face a series of disappointments, we may have no one to fight, no place to run. Our primitive brain may freeze, trying to protect us. Understanding what happened and why can bring a huge sense of relief. You are not crazy. There is nothing “wrong” with you. Your body and brain are doing their best to help, and they just got stuck partway through the process.

3) You use then a series of self-change techniques, such as EFT Tapping, to UNFREEZE the trauma. Discharge it, and free all the stuck energy and power in your body. While it can be frightening to face the feelings, releasing them feels AMAZING!

4) Then you energetically recalibrate your system. How? By consciously deciding how you would like to feel, and integrating that into your system. Tapping works powerfully to anchor the positive beliefs and directions. Continue the healing process until you and your trusted observers (coaches, friends, inner guides) agree that you are processing the world in an empowered way.

You start living with confidence again.

Megan points out that people who are unemployed long term often make far less than their peers 10 years later. Why?

Well, she makes it clear that people who are living in a fearful place, where scarcity is their world, ACCEPT first offers without even asking the pay. They avoid asking for raises out of fear. They are more likely to stay in the same job rather than take the measured risk of looking for and getting a new position.

Those of us who work with these kinds of very human traumas know they can shift. Our clients give us feedback of how different life looks when those frozen fears are cleared out. And we’ve had the experience personally.

No, it doesn’t always happen in a minute. But we can shift our energy in ways that are not yet widely known. It is our hope… and our mission… to do whatever we can to educate people about these frozen energies and how they DO affect our lives… and with warmth and self-love, a circle of support, some skill and attention… your emotional world can be restored so you can live, laugh, and love with confidence once again.

If you want to jump in with a group that helps you clear your blocks to abundance and release old traumas and negative beliefs, our Group Coaching Program is available now. In two minutes you could be “tapping” into resources and changing your mind from the inside out! Join us today.

When you’re stuck, sometimes the best thing you can do is accept yourself right where you are. It seems counter-intuitive, but there are times when we need to slow down to speed up. Tap along to start moving again!

***********************************************

Stuck? Knowing where and how to target your efforts is the key!

Why haven’t you figured it out on your own? You’ve certainly tried hard enough! The reasons you are stuck are hidden in your subconscious and under a blanket of denial… and will stay hidden until you ask 3 key questions that help you uncover your blocks. Rick has a program to address these stuck energies.

I keep hearing the phrase “My life sucks” running through my head like a broken record. — Jennifer

So just tap on it!

Karate Chop: Even though is sucks to be me, I’m open to finding a way to accept myself… even while life sucks.

Top of the Head: This sucks!
Eyebrow: My life sucks!
Side of the Eye: It SUCKS to be me!
Under the Eye: That’s all there is to it.
Under the Nose: My life sucks.
Chin: It SUCKS!
Collarbone: My life sucks, and that’s the truth!
Under the Arm: No getting around it, my life sucks!

Top of the Head: My life sucks.
Eyebrow: But what if I can find some things to enjoy anyway?
Side of the Eye: No I can’t!
Under the Eye: My life sucks!
Under the Nose: For really good reasons.
Chin: You’d agree.
Collarbone: My life sucks and that’s never going to change.
Under the Arm: I might as well accept it.

Top of the Head: This is where I am.
Eyebrow: I can’t see a way out.
Side of the Eye: Can I?
Under the Eye: If I accept that my life sucks…
Under the Nose: And stop spending my energy fighting that…
Chin: What can I do to make it a little bit better?
Collarbone: My life sucks…
Under the Arm: But what if I could enjoy it a little bit anyway?
Top of the Head: It does suck, and it feels good to stop fighting it for right now.

Take a deep breath.

When we RESIST, we spend a lot of energy trapping ourselves right where we are. And please know we’re not judging you. We resist, too! But if we can just start where we are, accept where we are, sometimes we can see things a new way.

A lot of people are afraid to honestly acknowledge when life sucks. They think the Law of Attraction will bring more of the sucking stuff. But when we resist, our subconscious is broadcasting the sucking vibration far louder and more constantly than our conscious brain can focus on good stuff.

So stop. Notice where you really are. And Tap! It will help you get in alignment. Once you’re in alignment, not trying to bounce back into denial, it is possible to see things differently. And by tapping, we can shift our subconscious to a new place… so our whole being can ask for the good stuff… without all the sucking sounds.

Does that make sense? Repeat the tapping above, with variations as feel right, as many times as you need to. Sometimes we need to spend a day or two feeling sucky before we’re ready to see new options.

If you’re still feeling stuck in suck after the tapping, we recommend listening and tapping along with this audio. It’s made a difference for thousands of people:

NO! You Can’t Make Me!

I need help prioritizing. –Debbie

How are you deciding what tasks are important? Many of us are tuned to external direction. We get bombarded with different priorities from our boss, our spouse, our friends, advertising on TV, and even our mother. No wonder we’re not sure where to start!

What is important to YOU?

Many of us have no idea how to answer that question. We were never taught how to hear our own priorities and wants. They were overshadowed by the noise and demands all around us.

What do you really want to experience in life? Will this task help you get it?

One way to know what’s really important (rather than what you think or were taught SHOULD be important to you), is to tune into your body.

For instance, you may have heard over and over again as a child that you MUST work hard to save every penny so you had financial security. But in your heart, you may long for more freedom. You may have enough abundance that hiring someone to clean the house would be well worth the money spent. What could you do with the time you would otherwise spend cleaning? Even though it may “violate” the rules you were taught, you it okay to now hold different priorities in your heart.

Our bodies are powerful truth detectors, once we learn how to read them. We often recommend starting small. This audio guides you through a simple exercise that can teach you to listen to your inner truth detector:

I think I’m stuck. I’ve been doing tapping and studying the Law of Attraction and most of the time I feel really good. But first thing every morning I have a strong fear coming up. I worry that I’m just wasting my time with this. What can I do? – Ivy

It sounds like part of you is afraid to move forward. And it happens at times even to the most confident of us!

If you’re feeling good most of the time, but have strong doubts and fears sometimes, there may be a frightened part of you that decided long ago how to be safe. All the changes can be unsettling! The frightened part of you may be resisting all the change and trying to hold onto patterns from long ago.

Does it feel safe to ALL parts of you to feel better? Do you deserve it?

If you feel better, what will those around you think? Do you think someone you love (dead or living) might feel jealous?

Rather than fight the doubts, see if you can dig underneath them and figure out where they came from (what rules or early decisions you are breaking by feeling good now), and tap on them. You can even tap on the doubts…

Karate Chop: Even though I have these doubts and fears, I worry that I may be wasting my time, I acknowledge all my feelings and accept myself just as I am.

Even though I am feeling better most of the time, part of me is scared. I send comfort and love to that part of me, and ask that part to open up and help me understand.

Even though I have these doubts, I’m glad I’m taking care of myself and feeling better most of the day. I may be wasting my time, but I feel better than I ever have… so maybe I’m on the right track after all!

Top of the Head: I have these doubts.
Eyebrow: What if I’m wasting my time?
Side of the Eye: What if I’m just fooling myself?
Under the Eye: I think I’m feeling better.
Under the Nose: But I’m not sure if it’s real.
Chin: What if part of me is scared?
Collarbone: Uncertain how to behave with these new feelings?
Under the Arm: Frightened of moving forward?

Top of the Head: I send comfort to that part of me.
Eyebrow: This is indeed new and strange.
Side of the Eye: I like how I feel…
Under the Eye: But it frightens me, too.
Under the Nose: Why am I frightened?
Chin: Am I breaking a childhood rule?
Collarbone: I don’t feel safe…
Under the Arm: Not entirely.

Top of the Head: I’m ready to feel better.
Eyebrow: I’m taking good care of me.
Side of the Eye: I do have my doubts…
Under the Eye: And I’m tapping on them right now.
Under the Nose: I accept myself just where I am…
Chin: And I’m open to noticing all the ways I feel better.
Collarbone: Maybe I’ll write a list…
Under the Arm: Of all those good things…
Top of the Head: When I have those doubts.

Take a deep breath.

How does that feel?

If specific memories came up for you, some Inner Tapping can help transform those feelings and fears. And our Self-Sabotage: Removing Your Subconscious Blocks program is a wonderful way to help you release resistance and start feeling confident and powerful.

Most of us would immediately say, “Yes, of course. I just want more!”

But if you dig a little deeper, you may find some old patterns and fears lurking in the shadows, blocking your enjoyment and and how much you let in.

Do you feel like your money is really yours or is part of you waiting for someone to snatch it away? Do you feel like the love in your life belongs to you, can you really let it in, or are you bracing for when it disappears? Even the food you eat… do you feel like you can accept all the nutrients and energy and enjoyment in it… or is part of you tense and resistant to it, not sure you deserve it?

As children, the love, security and food (and for some of us, even the breath we took) was at the whim of our parents. Small children know how dependent they are. They can’t provide for themselves. They can’t get a job, drive a car, buy food. They have no idea how to look around the world at large to find love.

Loving, balanced parents can help children feel safe and abundant. They can help them learn to let the beauty and warmth in. The problem is, even loving parents have their own fears. They have their own blocks to abundance. And we often absorbed those fears and blocks along with our morning juice. We internalized them until they seemed like fact. We’re taught to never question them, even when they stop us from enjoying life fully.

Those blocks are rather like wiring your jaw shut just before a fabulous all-you-can-eat buffet! There may be abundance all around, but you can’t really let it in.

The good news is… whether you had loving parents or not, you can tap and reclaim your abundance.

Imagine releasing the resistance to allowing more financial abundance and really owning it.

Feel the energy and emotional wealth to fill you and rejuvenate you.

Imagine allowing the love into your heart and in that moment being fully present with it as it soothes and warms you.

Know the food you eat is really yours… allowing the spirit of the food to nurture your heart as the vitamins and minerals nurture your body.

Let’s do some tapping to connect with that abundance now:

Karate Chop: Even though I learned long ago that what I have isn’t really mine, I choose to embrace my abundance now, and reclaim my connection to money, love, and food.

Even though I didn’t feel safe with it back then, I knew they could take it away, I tune into my power now and allow myself to enjoy my abundance in the moment.

Even though I never felt like it was mine, maybe I can claim it and enjoy it anyway. That would certainly raise my vibration and help me attract more of this good stuff!

Top of the Head: Is it really safe to claim this now?
Eyebrow: I know I didn’t always have control back then.
Side of the Eye: I didn’t feel like it belonged to me.
Under the Eye: I only got it if I was “good.”
Under the Nose: I only got it if they noticed me.
Chin: They could take it away….
Collarbone: Or never share at all.
Under the Arm: I learned to only borrow abundance.

Top of the Head: What if the Universe wants me to have it?
Eyebrow: What if it was sent just for me?
Side of the Eye: Maybe I can keep it now.
Under the Eye: The money, the love, the food.
Under the Nose: They’re all special gifts to me.
Chin: I choose to start letting that in.
Collarbone: It feels pretty good!
Under the Arm: Thank you, Universe!

Top of the Head: I was pretty scared.
Eyebrow: I kept protecting myself from loss.
Side of the Eye: I braced myself against abundance.
Under the Eye: But I don’t need to anymore.
Under the Nose: I choose to allow it in.
Chin: I ask the Universe…
Collarbone: My body, and my brain…
Under the Arm: To help me embrace abundance.
Top of the Head: And enjoy every last drop!

Take a deep breath.

How did that feel? Were you able to open some to the abundance all around you? If you noticed any shift at all, that’s a great sign! Keep practicing and you’ll get better and better!

If you couldn’t open up, what stopped you? You might be stuck behind issues of fear, deserving, and safety.

In our Group Coaching Program, we have a Financial Abundance Study Group and a Body Image Study Group because we know that how we feel about money and how we connect with our body and food are two sides of the same coin. As you “fix” one, you are often working on the same core issues that block the other. If you want to accelerate your connection with abundance, join us today!

Are you blocking or hiding abundance because of old rules?

One of the phrases many of us heard when we were young was “Did you bring enough for everyone?” It could have been candy, gum, a special toy, or a fun comic book. It didn’t matter… that was the catch phrase a lot of teachers used as they took your special treat away.

To a 5-year-old, those items were abundance. To have them taken away was heart-wrenching. And it was horribly embarrassing and shaming to sit there in front of the class, being made to feel like you were selfish and mean for not thinking of others.

Our brain is always looking for ways to keep us safe. Five-year-olds don’t have a lot of experience. They’re trying to understand their world and how it works. The young brain might decide:

- If I have something nice, someone in authority will take it away.
- If I have something special, other people will want it.
- If I have something unusual, they’ll be hurt and jealous if I don’t share.
- I’m not entitled to anything everyone else doesn’t have.

Of course your brain could have come up with something different from that. Smart people can find clever ways to understand how others interact with them. But sometimes those clever understandings don’t fit our adult world… they can get in the way. Like… deciding that having abundance is fine but ONLY as long as it is SECRET and no one finds out!

We address blocks like this in our Financial Abundance Study Group in our Group Coaching Program. An amazing part of group coaching is hearing someone bring up an issue that is core to your block, in a way that you never considered before. Releasing those hidden beliefs can give you abundance and freedom in new and delightful ways!

If your subconscious decided that when other people found out what you had that you would be judged, bullied, robbed, or taken advantage of… your primitive brain will shut you down when you reach for abundance. And even if you’ve gotten good at hiding how much you have, it takes effort and energy to cover it up. The stress gets higher the more you have to protect. So it may seem safer just not to have too much!

There is another solution. You can tap and change the beliefs that make it unsafe. Once your subconscious gets the new guidelines, all the energy that was directed towards sabotage can start flowing towards your dreams!

“Did you bring enough to share?” Whether you heard this exact phrase from a teacher, or you just recognize the feeling, tapping can help release the grip it has on your brain.

There are a several approaches you can take. One we really like is Inner Tapping. To do this, think back to a time that this energy was intense. Then imagine tapping on that younger self, while you tap on your physical body here and now. We’re going to use a kindergartner who had a Tootsie roll taken by the teacher. Feel free to change the words to fit your experience.

Karate Chop: Even though I didn’t bring enough to share, and I felt embarrassed and ashamed, I’m okay with others having candy and not being forced to share.

Even though I thought I was supposed to feel responsible for all their hurt feelings, and guilty for not having enough to share with EVERYONE… and that mean teacher took away my candy… I like that I have more power now. Maybe I can enjoy my own abundance… and share when and if I want to.

Even though it really hurt, and I’m angry that she took my candy, and I decided that meant I had to hide all the good stuff I had, I don’t have to listen to that teacher anymore. Maybe my abundance inspires others. Maybe I can feel really good having abundance, knowing other people can have their own, too.

Top of the Head: She took my candy.
Eyebrow: She blamed me!
Side of the Eye: How could she do that?!
Under the Eye: It was mine!
Under the Nose: I’m afraid people will take good stuff away from me.
Chin: It’s better not to have it.
Collarbone: I need to hide it, don’t I?
Under the Arm: But that takes a lot of effort… and it’s not very fun.

Top of the Head: That was a long time ago.
Eyebrow: Does that rule still apply now?
Side of the Eye: It was definitely true back then… when I was a child.
Under the Eye: But it was a stupid rule!
Under the Nose: Even back then.
Chin: I want to keep my candy.
Collarbone: I want to feel safe with my abundance.
Under the Arm: I can choose new rules for me now.

Top of the Head: It’s okay to have nice things.
Eyebrow: There’s plenty of abundance for everyone.
Side of the Eye: That teacher didn’t think so.
Under the Eye: She wasn’t very smart!
Under the Nose: Different people like different things.
Chin: We all get to have our own abundance.
Collarbone: I thought they’d still take it away, like back then…
Under the Arm: But now I see that I can delight in my abundance,
Top of the Head: And wish them well with theirs!

Take a deep breath.

Notice what came up for you. What feels intense, still? Are the selfish aspects still stinging some? Or the anger? You can ask your younger self what is bothering him or her. Younger selves are generally (as long as they feel safe) very willing to guide you. Once they’re bored with the process, or ready to go out and play, you know you’ve cleared it!

You can also join us and bring your issues to a group coaching call. A new perspective can help you shift your blocks surprisingly quickly, and the connection and support make it feel safer and easier. To us, that’s abundance!
